And Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the first chipset to carry Qualcomm's new naming scheme (which the company had previously teased last week), ditching the three-digit numbering system previously used by Qualcomm, according to The Verege. As every year Qualcomm promises some improvements. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with better performance, camera technology, AI capabilities, security and 5G. It offers 20% better CPU performance and up to 30% CPU power efficiency. As expected, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is Qualcomm's first chip to use the latest Armv9 architecture from Arm. Specifically, the new Kryo eight-core CPU will feature a single 3.0GHz Cortex-X2-based core, along with three performance cores based on a Cortex-X2 core. The new chipset is based on a Cortex-A710 at 2.5GHz and quadruple efficiency cores based on the Cortex-Designed A510 at 1.8GHz. Additionally, the new chip moves to a 4nm process, from the 5nm process on which the Snapdragon 888 is built.Qualcomm promises that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will deliver up to 20% better performance and up to 30% higher power efficiency than last year's model. Meanwhile, a new Adreno GPU like Gen 1's Kryo CPU, Qualcomm hasn't given a specific number of updated hardware and promises to deliver graphics rendering. 30% faster, as well as 25% better power efficiency than the Snapdragon 888, will also provide a new GPU control panel for fine-tuning how games play on your phone.
