The High Electoral Commission announced that it would start receiving appeals in the results starting from tomorrow and for a period of three days, and that it would be decided within seven days.

The Commission had said that the percentage of voting amounted to 41 percent, adding that the calculation of this percentage came with the account of those who voted from among those who owned the smart electoral card, which numbered about 22 million people, and not from the total number of those who are entitled to vote.

It is the percentage of this lowest in the country since 2005, which witnessed the first legislative elections in Iraq after its American occupation in 2003.

Iraq is struggling with an economic and outbreak of corruption and sectarian division.Analysts rule out that the elections, the fifth since the American invasion in 2003, will achieve a major change in the political scene in Iraq.

The elections were held six months before their original history, in a rare concession to the youth -led protest movement, which broke out in 2019 against a political class with a wide scale for the spread of graft, unemployment and collapse of public services.

Hundreds have been killed during these protests, and dozens of anti -government activists have killed, kidnapped or intimidated in recent months, with accusations of armed groups loyal to Iran of being behind violence.
