The editorials of the Lebanese newspapers issued in Beirut this morning, Monday, August 9, 2021, focused on the response of the resistance and the speech of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, on the 15th anniversary of the July victory, especially on the resistance fixing the rules of engagement with the Israeli enemy.. As for the government, not New until now, and according to some newspapers, we have 48 hours to decide whether or not to form a government.

Hezbollah's response frustrates the enemy's options: The Lebanese collapse prompted aggression

The principle of proportionality defined by the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, as a title governing the responses of the resistance in the face of any Israeli air attack on Lebanon, applies to the relationship between the “dangerous strategic dimensions for Israel” of Hezbollah's missile response, according to commentators specialized in The entity of the enemy, and between the level of public criticism that the occupation army and the intelligence assessment apparatus were subjected to. The army and its apparatus are responsible for "misleading the political leadership" by excluding, to the extent of reassurance, Hezbollah's "proportional", serious and frank response to the raid carried out by the Air Force on an open area in southern Lebanon at dawn last Thursday. These agencies were based their assessment on the internal conditions in Lebanon.

The explanations given by Sayyed Nasrallah, on the occasion of the anniversary of the victory in the 2006 war, about the dangers and messages of the Israeli aggression, the background and objectives of Hezbollah's decision to respond, its nature, size, timing and method, showed the size of the differences between the depth of understanding enjoyed by Hezbollah's leadership of the reality of the enemy's entity, And the backgrounds of its choices, bets, and estimates, and the defect that the Israeli political and military leaderships suffer in their understanding of Hezbollah and the environment of the resistance at the height of the internal and external pressures they are exposed to. The importance and seriousness of this imbalance lies in the fact that it once again embodies the fact that the enemy may greatly improve the description of the facts, based on the large amount of information that there is no longer a problem in providing it, in light of the development of the means of communication and communication. However, this does not protect him from falling into the trap that senior experts in the intelligence world warn about, regarding the danger and necessity of not “projecting our concepts on the concepts of the opposite party,” because they may get involved in choices based on wrong estimates and result in results that are completely different from what was sought.

As in many previous stations, the strategic vision adopted by Hezbollah was also a major factor in the achievements and victories of the resistance. This time, these achievements were also an additional factor in the origin of the criticisms that the intelligence assessment apparatuses of the enemy entity were subjected to, specifically with regard to the concept on which the decision of the Israeli attack (Thursday Dawn) was based, which His Eminence, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, elaborated on revealing and explaining its dimensions and dangers on the reality. And the future situation in Lebanon.

The direct and immediate result of Hezbollah's missile response (Friday) is that it prevented the enemy from achieving its goal of breaking the restrictions imposed by the resistance on the enemy's aggressive options towards Lebanon and the resistance since the 2006 war. This goal was and still is an urgent demand of the enemy's leadership. However, over the past years, it did not dare to initiate operational steps to achieve it, despite all the developments that Lebanon and the region witnessed, with the exception of the limited attack in February 2014, in an ambiguous area between Lebanon and Syria, and Hezbollah thwarted it at the time by responding in the Shebaa Farms area. This reluctance and hesitation is due to the realization of all the officials and leaders who held their positions in Tel Aviv that any adventure in this direction would have led to a counter-response by Hezbollah that might roll into a broader and more dangerous confrontation.

However, the feature that characterized the enemy's last attempt lies not only in the origin of the operational initiative, but also in its being frank and direct, through the Air Force, and in the depth of southern Lebanon. The most serious danger in this attempt lies in the fact that one of its dimensions, too, is a test by fire of the effects of a group of factors influencing the calculations of the Hezbollah leadership, starting with an attempt to discover the impact of internal developments in Lebanon on the party's choices and estimates in the face of Israel, to the effects of the intimidation messages that successive leaders received. The enemy on every occasion, and to discover the impact of the continuous increase in the level of readiness of the enemy’s army, over the past years, and whether it will lead to deterring Hezbollah in front of two options: either to accept this new level of aggression or to go towards a broad military confrontation that it does not want in light of the financial and economic collapse it is witnessing. Lebanon.

In light of the results of this test, it was natural for the enemy to establish an operational track that goes beyond the field scene in the south to include all of Lebanon. Its repercussions extend to more than one arena and address, including the internal situation in Lebanon. Any subsequent attempt to contain and limit these repercussions will be more difficult and costly, especially since the success of the enemy in his plan would have fueled the illusions of those who are waiting for the resistance, and spread in their consciousness assessments - illusions, that they and Lebanon would be involved with them in what is much more dangerous than that. There is no exaggeration in this estimate, and the strongest indication of it is that some of them, at least, sometimes cling to an event or situation here and there, and base their estimates and choices on it, before discovering later that it was an exaggeration or a kind of wishful thinking.

The new Israeli government has become more aware, from experience, that its options in confronting Hezbollah and Lebanon are limited, narrow and costly.

Not far from this context, the resistance has also achieved an achievement in the battle of awareness related to the philosophy of its existence and its role, and in confirming Lebanon's need to continue growing its capabilities in the face of the enemy's growing capabilities and its continued readiness to launch attacks. The resistance, with its resounding response in its dimensions and messages, dropped the bet on trying to suggest that it could no longer continue to defend and protect Lebanon. If the resistance had refrained from a serious and effective response, this would have been employed in the war waged by the internal and external organs hostile to the resistance against the awareness of its environment, and an attempt to spread concepts such as that the resistance has become more costly and useless. However, the result that crystallized after Hezbollah's response confirmed once again Lebanon's need for a resistance that would provide it with security in the face of the Israeli threat.

Nevertheless, it should be noted that the resistance, in all scenarios, and in the face of all that it has achieved and will achieve, will continue to be subjected to this kind of wars that attempt to diminish the achievements it has achieved, and question its backgrounds and choices. It is remarkable that some enemy experts are more objective than some insiders. This was evident in the approach of the researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center of Herzliya, and at the Regional Thought Forum, Uri Golberg, who wrote an article on the “Yedioth Ahronoth” website, entitled “What is Hezbollah that we forgot to take into account?” In which he discussed his Lebanese identity that dictates his positions and choices. In the context of responding to readings that attempted to link his decision to respond to regional developments.

In contrast to all of the foregoing, Hezbollah's response was frank and direct, in an unprecedented manner in 15 years. However, the specificity of the strategic dimension of this response lies not only in its being in exchange for a previous Israeli attack, but also in its future messages, which were made clear by the Secretary-General of Hezbollah when he pledged explicitly and clearly to respond proportionally and appropriately to any air attack in any part of Lebanon. In this particular point, the danger and importance of Hezbollah's response to the assessments and bets that have proven to be engraved in the awareness of the political and military leaderships in Tel Aviv lie in the fact that the acceleration of the internal collapse in Lebanon constitutes a constraint on Hezbollah in responding to any attempt to establish a new equation in Lebanon that makes it In the face of the Israeli attacks.

The link between the Lebanese internal situation and the enemy's boldness in its aggressive choice is not limited to estimating the circumstances, contexts, nature, timing and method of the attack... Rather, it is also revealed by many Israeli reports, as they accurately showed the size of the gap separating it from understanding the reality of Hezbollah, especially after Maariv newspaper and other Israeli media revealed that "Hezbollah's response surprised the security services a lot," indicating that the degree of exclusion of the party's response amounted to reassurance, based on the information available to them about the course of the internal situation in Lebanon. As a result of the seriousness of this defect and what it may entail in the future as well, the newspaper called for “an in-depth examination of the method of analyzing intelligence information, and an examination of whether there is excessive arrogance in the assessment that Hezbollah will not respond.” This is noting that the surprise was not limited to the origin of the response decision, but also included its size, and also necessarily applies to announcing it in an official statement, photographing it, and publishing it in the media.

This tour, and the miscalculations that the enemy relied on during it, indicates a fact that entails very great dangers to the Lebanese reality. It is that the internal political and media campaign in Lebanon, and the pressures it is witnessing on the economic and financial levels, constituted a factor luring the enemy into engaging in aggressive options. And if Hezbollah's quick and frank response, coupled with the messages and positions launched by its Secretary-General, stopped at this stage this regression that would have implicated Lebanon and the enemy entity in a broad military confrontation.

However, despite the fact that enemy Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and other political and intelligence agencies discovered that they were exaggerating in betting on the effects of the internal situation, he returned and dealt with it in a kind of salutation and praise for the voices attacking Hezbollah inside Lebanon. As he considered during the Israeli government session, yesterday, that "there is a very important awakening on the Lebanese side, expressed by many citizens against Hezbollah and the Iranian interference in the country." Bennett agreed with some Lebanese voices, saying that "in light of the severe economic and political crisis in Lebanon, Iran and Hezbollah tend to involve the Lebanese people in the front with Israel," ignoring the fact that the resistance operation came in response to an air attack in the depth of southern Lebanon.

On the other hand, it should be noted that Bennett failed in what he was betting on to prove his eligibility to lead Israel in the face of the skepticism campaigns he is exposed to by his predecessor/rival Benjamin Netanyahu. As he hoped that he would succeed in an aggressive choice that Netanyahu did not dare to make, and to establish a formula that his predecessor incited to take. However, it has been proven to the new Prime Minister, Bennett, who was criticizing his predecessor for his policies in confronting Hezbollah and Lebanon, that when he becomes in a position of decision, he will see things differently than he saw them when he was in the position of opposition and in the position of bidding on Netanyahu's policies and decisions.

In any case, it is certain that this tour will be subject to a lot of research and study by the assessment and decision-making bodies in the enemy entity, in order to draw lessons and try to fix the imbalance inherent in the concepts through which they look at the resistance and Lebanon. The certainty that has become clear to the enemy leadership is that it is wrong to bet on developments in the internal situation in Lebanon to launch more attacks on the resistance and on Lebanon without receiving proportional responses. And that the new Israeli government has become more aware, from experience, that its options in confronting Hezbollah and Lebanon are limited, narrow and costly.

The tribes of Lebanon and the new fascism

Ibrahim Al-Amin

When the Syrian army left Lebanon in 2005, people did not hesitate to reposition themselves after 15 years of "half-compulsive" alignment. It is true that the Lebanese tribes are skilled in arranging their seats within the hall of the regime itself, but the change took place in the hall itself, as those appointed by Syria as representatives of the Christians left it during its administration of the Lebanese file in full agreement with the United States of America, Saudi Arabia and France. Within a few weeks, representatives entered the same hall, who are closer to the reality of what the Christian majority in Lebanon wants. But the constant idea in everything that happened is that everyone returned and organized themselves inside the hall of the same system. At this stage, there was a major player, whose idea and effectiveness were based on what is the opposite of this system, which is Hezbollah. However, the mechanisms of his work at home did not make him in the position of seeking a radical change of the regime. All he did was give himself an excuse to be absent from the hall itself, because he was convinced of its ineffectiveness on the one hand, and because he was not afraid of those present in it because of the presence of the Syrian overseer at the door of the hall. As for it was decided to retire the headmaster, and to bring in a replacement without serious agreement, Hezbollah was forced to have a massive presence inside the hall, but it disagreed with the others over the identity of the new headmaster.

In practice, a serious, informal change was achieved in the image of the occupiers of the regime's seats. Forces, destinations, and personalities came out, and alternatives entered from them. This is also reflected in the presence in the outer courtyard. The most prominent of all that happened was what people witnessed in the quality and level of representation among Christians mainly, and some transformation among Muslims, but with regard to their discourse and not their representation. Because since 2005 until the last elections, there has been no fundamental change in the nature of representation among Shiites, Sunnis, and Druze, as among other minorities. And after everyone settled in their updated seats, the work whistle sounded again. Within a few months, new alliances were formed among those present in the hall, which created confusion, a rise in voices, and problems that ended in what we have become on the day of the election of General Michel Aoun as President of the Republic.

It will still be necessary to review and understand what really happened. However, the successive explosions of crises in Lebanon pushed everyone to an agenda with new items. However, the transformation was that Syria's exit from Lebanon was not a unilateral step. Syria did not come out of its own initiative or will. It is within a context that has an internal Lebanese dimension and has its elements and external strength, on the Arab and international levels. However, some inside and the majority of the outsiders assumed that Syria's exit did not mean the removal of Nasser Qandil from Parliament, but rather the removal of the resistance from the Lebanese equation. And the continuous presentation from that day until now, says that the outside and some of the inside, and the presence of the two parties is unusual inside the hall of order, offering a new settlement to regulate the relationship between the Lebanese tribes, but on the condition that the state of resistance is considered an issue that has nothing to do with this country. Consequently, the Christian, Sunni, Druze, and other tribes are still offering the representatives of the Shiite tribe to choose whomever they want to represent them inside the hall of the regime, but on the condition that the resistance be removed. The request for deportation is not related to not entering the hall itself, but rather expelling her from the outer courtyards as well, and considering her attached to the Syrian army, she should have left with him... After strenuous attempts between 2003 and 2006 (since the invasion of Iraq until after the assassination of Rafik Hariri), the Lebanese tribes found that this The demand requires a remedy that is not available to it, so it approved an Arab-European-American proposal that says that Israel undertakes the implementation of the task according to the following rule: The majority of the Lebanese tribes reject the survival of the resistance, with a willingness to modify representation within the Shiite tribe, with international cover for a military action of a salvific nature... So it was a year's war 2006. To this day, I still remember the discussions that took place with those who were at the heart of the organizing mind of the March 14 movement, and these discussions remained based on the hypothesis of those that the war had decided results: crushing the resistance, and reproducing a different representation of the Shiite tribe.

Civilians of October 17 deserve to be distinguished from the crowds of sectarians and agents of embassies seeking to reproduce the civil war and repeat the experience of division with the protection of the outside

It happened, and the project was overkill. But the youth did not realize that they had lost the war, not just the tour. Israel is still holding itself accountable and holding its breath whenever it remembers this adventure, and the West is asking for "permission" to deploy international forces on the southern border in Lebanon. However, there are those in Lebanon who still believe that the operation failed as a result of poor organization and a lack of American and Israeli perseverance. Just as their version of Syria is: The international community has failed the Syrian people. As if the world did not do everything in its power to turn the scene there and failed!

Here we are today before the same session. 15 years between 1975, the date of the outbreak of the civil war, and 1990, the date the Taif Agreement was approved; Then another 15 years at the mercy of the American-Saudi-Syrian-European understanding, which ended in 2005 with the assassination of Rafik Hariri and the crazy July war; And after 15 years, we stand today, at a new date titled the explosion of August 4... It is 45 years of the age of the new conflict between the Lebanese tribes, but with preparation for a new round. And this time, someone is returning to his old notebooks: Leave me alone!

On the 17th of October, as on the 14th of March, many slogans emerged for a movement in which those who believed that it sought comprehensive change and to get rid of the sectarian system and build a civil state participated. But the 17th of October ended with the mobilization of the masses in their tribal wards. It was decided that the matter would be in the form of a mass led by an active partner of the ruling system and the sponsor of the financial system, with its banking and commercial parts, and the leader of the neutrality revolution, after midday with an exercise for the fascists of the “Lebanese Forces” in preparation for what is greater. The problem here is that what happened on August 4 was not, and will not be, far from two more serious incidents. One was carried out by the murder gangs in Khaldeh, and the other was carried out by the misguided group in Shuya. The two incidents are an additional part of the exercises of the Lebanese tribes in preparation for what they believe to be the big day. Unfortunately, the matter would not have been, neither in Khaldeh nor in Shwaya, had it not been for Walid Jumblatt to show his willingness to pay the bills to Saudi Arabia, even with blood, after Wael Abu Faour, his delegate to (the head of Saudi intelligence), Khaled Humaidan, repeatedly knocked on the fact that Saudi Arabia is tired of the words. Without actions, and after they volunteered to do what Saad Hariri refused to do out of weakness, rationality, or other reasons...

The scene in Lebanon today is not only bleak, but very dark. Whoever believes that the Lebanese film can be replayed, as it happened 45 years ago, is a person who is out of his mind, and who is not good at reading what appears before his eyes. But the most painful truth is that among the leaders of the Lebanese tribes, who is ready to burn everything: his house and his people before others in order to remain where he believes it is his share in this miserable system. The problem with these people is not that they risk everything, and yearn for bloody fascism every moment, but rather the problem is with those who still assume that the Lebanese can be gathered in one “roll” in order to justify their ambitions. And this time, the big question will be directed to everyone who participated, blessed, and struggled in the October 17 movement, considering, rightly or unjustly, that it is his path to a just and modern civil state. The question is not malicious with the intention of embarrassing those who are unable to do something beyond his ability, but rather with the intention of using reason at this very moment: Whoever does not raise his voice in the face of the fascists who are spreading from Shuya to Khaldeh to Gemmayzeh to other places that are being prepared, is a full-fledged accomplice in the great crime. Which awaits the remnants of this entity!

It is not true that principles 6 and 6 bis can be adopted in cases of indiscriminate killing and attempts to produce civil war. The most urgent question is facing everyone who considers themselves outside this fascist-sectarian system. It is a question addressed by name and address to everyone who participates in a battle whose advocates say that its goal is change, but they see that the path to this change passes through a civil war whose aim is to destroy the resistance!

It is a direct question, to the secularists and civilians of those who participated in the recent trade union events, to the activists and fighters of the Communist Party and the Nasserist organization, to citizens in a state, and to all academic groups and trade union frameworks emerging from the oppression of the sectarian system with all its tragedies. Whoever considers himself unconcerned or irresponsible must remember that these tribes ended the first 15 years of the bloody war by agreeing to share the wealth of the people, and practiced all oppression and theft for another 15 years, then returned to share what was left of the cake in the 15 years. The past 15... And after all that, here she is returning to the game that is dear to her heart, and to the profession that no one else has mastered: to the game of insane killing. And those affected must remember, without shame, fear or fear, that they have always been the victims of this game. But their silence today will make them partners in a crime before they turn into its latest victims as well!

The Banque du Liban stops opening credits: the end of fuel subsidies!

The Banque du Liban lifted subsidies unannounced. The Ministry of Energy confirms this, as well as the oil facilities and importing companies. Even the drip of opening credits is only further confirmation of the end of the subsidy era. The problem is that the alternative, if any, is not ready. However, this is not a priority for the central bank, which uses the excuse of a scarcity of dollars, and refused to harm the money of depositors in order to implement its procedures. As a result, neither electricity nor fuel will be available, except for the rich. This is the significance of the Bank of Lebanon's procedures. People should get used to buying all their necessities at the market price. This means that the measures that were feared to be implemented by the International Monetary Fund, and that their social repercussions would be severe, have all become a fait accompli. Only the banks are still excluded from paying their share of the losses

The Banque du Liban has stopped opening credits. This news is reported by more than one worker in the sector. In the Ministry of Energy, the phrase is not said as it is. Those concerned prefer to remain conservative, pointing out that he “almost” stopped the support. The news falls like a thunderbolt even on those who expect it. The bank did not announce anything. Nor was anyone informed of any new decision. It suffices when he asks the Governor of the Banque du Liban or his deputies to indicate that he no longer has usable dollars. How do you spend it? With strict rationing of opening credits, in preparation for the stage of complete cessation. The experience of importers is that when the noose gets too tight, the bank returns to opening credits, but according to the same policy: with a dropper. All of this paves the way for the subsidy to be lifted soon, even before the expiration of the three-month period, which was referred to in the exceptional decision issued by the Presidents of the Republic and the government, in which it was decided, in coordination with the Banque du Liban, to borrow from it in dollars at the price of 3900 pounds, to cover the import of fuel, for a period of three months. It ends at the end of September. Relevant sources say that when the bank agreed to that, it linked its approval to the existence of funds and to the government’s preparation to lift subsidies. Therefore, when he is strict about opening credits, he announces that he no longer has dollars, regardless of the deadline for the decision.

The same crisis befalls Electricité du Liban as well. The bank opened the last two credits for the shipments of Grade A fuel and "Diesel Oil". After that, the ministry did not request any shipment, because it did not have the funds, after the treasury advance that EDL obtained at a value of $200 million ran out. According to the information, the Ministry of Energy did not request any new advance, based on its realization that, after the campaign that was launched against the ministry after the request for the first advance, there is no point in requesting a new advance, which for some will constitute an opportunity to settle political scores. It remains for any parliamentary bloc to submit a law proposal to grant an advance, which has not happened yet, perhaps awaiting a further tightening of the noose. The deputies who claimed heroism when they refused to increase the value of the advance, under the pretext of protecting the depositors’ money, are the same, who daily see their “electors” living in the dark, without caring, while the depositors’ money has evaporated long ago.

The need for diesel oil increased from 200,000 tons per month to 400,000 tons

The problem here, according to Representative Gebran Bassil, is not related to the Electricity of Lebanon or the Ministry itself, but rather to the Banque du Liban, which controls the fate of people and the fate of all sectors. Therefore, the Electricité du Liban Corporation had previously announced that it was ready to raise production immediately to about two thousand megawatts, if it secured the necessary funds to purchase fuel and perform the required maintenance for the plants. However, in light of the deaf ears that the Banque du Liban manages for all requests, increasing production has become a distant dream. His argument has always been that he does not have dollars, but he never hesitated to waste money on support that he realizes went into the pockets of monopolists and merchants, from whom he got rich. About seven billion dollars, the bank knows that most of it did not go to those who deserve it. On the other hand, he does not mind extinguishing the Jiyyeh and Zouk factories, for example, due to the need for only $5 million to secure the necessary oils and spare parts. "Energy" also confirms that the Deir Ammar and Al-Zahrani factories will not be delayed before extinguishing, regardless of the presence of fuel. For many months, no maintenance was carried out on them, and they “became in conflict,” confirms workers at the “Prime South” company. They point out that the two plants could have been turned off a long time ago if they were operating at their maximum capacity, but the lack of fuel and the need to operate other production and extinguishing units led to the extension of the life of the generators and the delay in the need for maintenance. All of this is associated with the catastrophe of the end of September, represented by the expiration of the contract for the Turkish ships, as it is expected that they will not remain after this date, noting that this contradiction is not changed by a statement in which the bank announces how many dollars it has consumed. If the goal was really to control the spending of dollars, Salameh would have listened to many advice, who repeatedly confirmed that every hour of electricity supplied by the Electricity Corporation of Lebanon leads to a saving of 32 percent of the price of diesel required for generators. The representative of importing companies, George Fayyad, confirms that the need for fuel oil has increased from 200,000 tons per month to 400,000 tons now, due to the harsh rationing of Lebanon's electricity. And whether the Banque du Liban is still opening credits for them, he confirmed that the new import requests have not yet obtained prior approval, while one ship has obtained approval and is waiting to be unloaded (20,000 tons of gasoline and 10,000 tons of diesel).

Currently, there is no longer a difference between diesel subsidy and fuel subsidy. Scarcity covered everything. The disaster affects all sectors. The private generators sector is also following EDL, towards collapse. The time to replace state electricity with generator electricity is over. Basically, despite the exacerbation of the phenomenon of turning off many generators and stopping their owners from working, whoever remains among them will be reserved for the wealthy, because the cost will exceed the ability of middle-income owners to bear it. Another problem is emerging from the gate of the worsening crisis. International companies avoid dealing with Lebanon, and the fuel import tenders prove this. And whoever agrees to sell to Lebanese companies now imposes “premium” higher than the market, by about ten dollars per ton (from $18 to about $28).

In practice, there is nothing left in the arena except for Iraqi fuel, which the ministry indicates that the procedures for benefiting from it take time due to the necessities related to the new contract that is supposed to be approved to replace the fuel. However, what was expected from the agreement with Iraq did not correspond to reality. The maximum expectation is that Iraqi fuel will secure the productive capacities available today, which are almost non-existent. As for fuel, the scene of queues has become normal in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, while the rest of the regions are getting used to the scene of closed stations, in exchange for selling on the black market. However, even what is said about the Ministry of Energy preparing a platform dedicated to registering people to obtain vouchers for petrol or diesel, is denied by responsible sources in the ministry. She points out that such vouchers need the cooperation of the ministries of finance, energy, economy and social affairs, in addition to the Banque du Liban, and therefore “energy” alone cannot present such a project, even if it strongly supports it, based on the fact that if the trend is towards raising subsidies, people cannot be left. Without minimum indemnity insurance.

This leads to the meetings held by the ministerial committee in charge of discussing the issue of the financing card, which is supposed to complete its mission before Thursday (it was given a two-week grace period after publishing the law in the Official Gazette). Despite the initial agreement on a series of criteria for the beneficiaries of the card, but if this card was supposed to be ready before the subsidy was lifted, the Banque du Liban’s procedures imposed opposite results. That is, the subsidy has become a rule raised, before the launch of the card, which needs about three months. People have only to endure a new chapter of suffering originally related to the refusal of the Banque du Liban and the banks to bear their share of the losses.

48 critical governmental hours?

Although the entire atmosphere of the formation of the government indicates that the expected event is nothing but the apology of President Najib Mikati, sources working on the composition line insist that “the doors are not closed,” and that communication has not been interrupted during the past days. And while the sources confirmed that the next 48 hours will be decisive, they made it clear that the discussion is not currently related to sovereign portfolios, but rather to service portfolios, as the issue of distributing sects to portfolios is being resolved. The problem of former MP Walid Jumblatt's insistence on the social affairs portfolio, which he preferred over the health and energy portfolios, has finally emerged. While observers indicate that Jumblatt’s desire to obtain this portfolio is mainly due to the role it will have in the coming period, linked to the expected aid, they considered that this is no different from President Michel Aoun’s desire to obtain the interior portfolio at the time of the elections, noting that sources Familiar with the Aounist position, she considers that the demand for it is due to the fact that Christians have been far from the “interior ministry” and “financial” for many years, and to the fact that this ministry was previously counted among the Christian share in the Hariri formation, before Mikati decided to return it to the Sunnis.

Amal's sources refused to comment on Aoun's refusal to name Youssef Khalil for finance, saying that she had not been informed of anything of the kind.

On the other hand, the head of the National Movement, Representative Gebran Bassil, indicated, in a statement on social media, that “every hour of electricity cut off from the factories costs the dollar reserves 32 percent more than the cost of private generators, and every hour of private generator costs the citizen Twenty times more than the state’s electricity hour.”

He continued: “Every moment of darkness and every extra penny incurred by the Lebanese people over the neck of the deputies who lied to the people and denied EDL the purchase of fuel to operate factories that need maintenance, and the Central Bank refuses to spend dollars from EDL money to buy spare parts.”

Al-Rahi calls for preventing the firing of rockets, and the “nationalist” responds. While the issue of the incident in the town of Shuya continued to interact, as the activities of the region reaffirmed its resistance role in confronting Israeli attacks, it was remarkable that the Maronite Patriarch Beshara Al-Ra’i stressed, in his Sunday sermon, the demand of the Lebanese army to prevent Rocket firing from Lebanese territory. It was also remarkable for his assertion that his position “does not stem from his concern for the safety of Israel, but rather from his concern for the safety of Lebanon.” And he called for “ending the military logic and war and adopting the logic of peace and the interest of Lebanon and all the Lebanese.” And while he placed the Israeli attacks and the response to these attacks in the same context, he denounced the heated atmosphere in the border areas, starting from the residential villages and their surroundings. He also affirmed his refusal for a party to decide on peace and war outside the legitimacy and national decision.

In response to Al-Rai, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party indicated, in a statement, that “Patriarch Beshara Al-Rai insists time after time on turning a blind eye to the right to struggle with the Israeli enemy, as if our country voluntarily chose to fall under the yoke of oppression, occupation and displacement a century ago until now". And he continued, “The shepherd turns a blind eye to hundreds of massacres and repeated attacks by the enemy, and puts the argument on those who took up arms to lift the injustice and liberate his land from the abomination of the settlement and uprooting gangs and the falsification of history and religion.”

The Nationalist Party stressed that “ignoring injustice and repeatedly turning a blind eye to the truth heralds dangerous goals. Neither the truce with the enemy brought protection to Lebanon, nor was neutrality the choice of those who have the right, but rather the choice of those who surrender. Undoubtedly, caring for corruption and enjoying the spoils while the subjects groan under the yoke of hunger and destitution does not save the country from the yoke of dependence, nor does investing in the blood of innocent people in the port restore Lebanon's role and vitality. Rather, his strength, and his strength alone is the only way to regain sovereignty, role, and access to development and advancement.

Shuwaiya Municipality: We are the incubating environment for the resistanceIt is mentioned that a delegation from the party, including the Brigadiers of Defense, Ziad Maalouf, the media figure Firas Al-Shoufi, and the General Executor of Hasbaya, Majed Al-Hamra, visited the Shuya municipality, stressing the importance of the region in the struggle with the enemy and its pioneering history in the resistance. In turn, Mayor Issam Al-Shoufi confirmed that the people of Shuya and its municipality support the work of the resistance, and they have always formed an environment that fosters the forces of the resistance, and they sacrificed the martyrs in the struggle with the enemy, and that what happened yesterday has been overcome and will not be repeated.

At the beginning of the Hijri year 1443, all eyes turned to the rising week, starting from tomorrow, in the hope that it would bear the harbingers of submission to the popular desire and the will of life, which is threatened by the diesel mafia and other types of fuel, despite the wide lifting of subsidies on it, and the agreement on the distribution of portfolios. In a country that blows crises in all components, from water to electricity, to food and medicine, on the eve of preparations for the start of the new academic year, in light of the increase in infections with the Corona virus (1552 infections within a day), with an increasing trend to re-lock the country, in extremely bad conditions, especially In terms of lost jobs and opportunities, with high unemployment rates.

According to experts, the formation of a government would contribute to stopping the collapse, and looking forward to the possibility of restoring balance to the economic cycle, by officially liberalizing the exchange rate of the dollar, and getting rid of the black market system, which affects everything and everything in the country.

Parallel to the local movement, Paris is making efforts, far from the limelight, to help the parties overcome the crisis, and to round corners with regard to the distribution of portfolios.

See you tomorrow

In principle, the governmental issue will most likely be completed tomorrow between Presidents Michel Aoun and Najib Mikati about the distribution of some portfolios that are being demanded by some political forces other than the four sovereign portfolios. To reconsider most of the distribution. It was agreed that Miqati would put a final formula for the distribution this week, taking into account all the demands and observations, so that the matter would be settled and agreed later on the sovereign portfolios, and then the names would be dropped on the portfolios. But what has been proven so far is that President Nabih Berri will not give up the money portfolio, regardless of the offers.

However, contrary to what is said, the atmosphere between the two presidents is still positive as long as the discussion is still going on between them about the remaining details about some of the portfolios, especially with the direct French entry and by mediation on the line of moral pressure to bypass the contract and the quota dispute, but there is a paradox if this is done. Bypassing it, it greatly facilitates understanding between them, and lies in the belief that Mikati is an extension of President Saad Hariri and expresses many of his political and non-political tendencies in the files that the government will deal with, but with the difference that what Hariri could not offer or concede, Mikati may do by rotating The sharp angles of the differences, so Mikati has not yet lacked a means or an idea that he proposes to discuss with Aoun.

However, the information indicated that a conversation had begun between Mikati and some political forces about the names of the ministers of the basic and service portfolios, so that they would be ready when it was agreed on the distribution of the portfolios in their final form.

Informed political sources said through the "brigade" that since Friday's meeting between the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate, no development has been recorded, pending the next meeting between them, which is expected tomorrow. The sources pointed out that it was not possible to discuss any government detail except through a direct meeting between them, stressing that the atmosphere has not yet reached great optimism, because a number of points have not been resolved, the first of which is how to distribute sovereign ministries, noting that if the climate is inclined to positive, then it is possible to start proposing The names of impartial personalities with competence to minister according to the rules agreed upon between Presidents Aoun and Mikati.

It was understood from the sources that what was leaked about excluding reaching solutions is not true, given that the negotiations are not suspended and that the meetings are therefore not postponed indefinitely.

She believed that when Aoun and Mikati communicated, they would agree on a date, knowing that a series of contacts were expected to have been recorded at the end of the week.

Journalism Today 9-8-2021 – Al-Manar TV website - Lebanon

The weekend did not witness any public contacts or foreseeable consultations to extricate the process of forming the new government from rotation in the manner of deliberate obstruction, which is ostensibly handled by the President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, and actually by his political heir, Representative Gebran Bassil, even if he was not at the forefront publicly, as he used to do previously. . Sources following up on the government formation file indicated that nothing has changed with regard to the Free Patriotic Movement's handling of the formation process, despite repeated attempts to deny this interference, but what is happening behind the scenes, and what information leaks in this regard refutes all attempts at denial and denial. Likewise, the escalation of the security situation in the south, and the popular protests resulting from the first anniversary of the Beirut port explosion, partially reduced interest in accelerating the pace of forming the government immediately, despite its importance. And I expected that reducing the intensity of the escalation in the south would lead to preparing the ground for the resumption of consultations between the presidents of the republic and the designate, to resume the formation process, even if the atmosphere did not indicate the possibility of achieving a serious breakthrough in the path of formation after the President of the Republic rejected most of the proposals presented by President-designate Najib Mikati until today. While the position of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, on the issue of forming the new government yesterday did not carry any positive indications or expectations of a solution, which supports the positions of many politicians who consider that the card for forming the new government is still in the hands of the Iranian negotiator in the nuclear file with the West. , which will not be released, as long as these negotiations are faltering, and in a stage of attraction between the concerned parties.

In a diplomatic context, the tweet of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, bore an indication of the position on what is happening: Ghassan Kanafani is one of the great symbolic writers who added to silence a more eloquent dimension than words: “Silence does not always mean acceptance; Rather, it means that we are tired of explaining to people who do not understand.

Follow-up sources did not see the words of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, as a positive indication, as he ended his appearance last Saturday with two words about the government situation. He said, "You are waiting and we are waiting," and the story is between His Excellency the President and the Prime Minister, and they are talking to each other and negotiating, to see what will emerge. We cannot anticipate matters.

The OTV station noted that the consultations on the formation of the government continue away from the limelight in the hope of finding solutions to the problems that have come to light, as it became clear that the discrepancy is not limited to the issue of rotation in sovereign portfolios only, but also includes the distribution of non-sovereign portfolios as well. Some publicly abstain from claiming any seat, while secretly clinging to what they believe will bring them electoral benefits at the ministerial level.

At this time, it seemed that the companies' monopoly on diesel fuel, and putting it at the disposal of the black market, to reap profits, threatened all the foundations of life in Lebanon, especially the health sector, and the Hospitals Syndicate warned that a number of hospitals threatened to stop their generators due to the lack of fuel oil.

The Syndicate of Hospitals in Lebanon pointed out that a number of hospitals, including university ones, are threatened with stopping their generators within hours due to the lack of diesel fuel for their generators.

The syndicate warned in a statement of this reality several days ago, surprising how this substance is delivered “by dropper” to hospitals while it is sold on the black market in an open and uncontrolled manner.

She said: “Despite the commendable efforts of Mrs. Auror Feghali, Director of the Oil Facilities, Mr. Hadi Al-Hussami, Director of the Tripoli Refinery, and some private companies, the problem remained and seriously threatens the lives of patients, especially with the Corona wave that we are witnessing again.”

On the other hand, the head of the Syndicate of Drug Importers in Lebanon, Karim Jabara, announced that “the import has completely stopped, and no medicine has entered Lebanon for two months, and the export process must be repeated, and today there is a subsidized drug and an unsubsidized drug.”

Jabbara continued, in an interview with Al-Jadeed: “The importer cannot import without the prior approval of the Banque du Liban.”

Jbara stressed that "the Banque du Liban must give prior approval to import, at least, cancer drugs."

Jebara indicated that "the matter is different in the fuel file, and the Bank of Lebanon opens the credits."

The General Directorate of Oil is exceptionally opening today the oil facilities in Zahrani and Tripoli, so that diesel is delivered to hospitals, and in quantities allocated for this purpose.

In another context of my life, there was a fear of a black market for domestic gas.

In terms of health, the Corona meter is still high, with dozens of new infections recorded daily, the slow pace of vaccination campaigns, and the absence of preventive measures from people.

Health circles feared that the rise in infections through the new mutants would lead to serious consideration of re-closing the country next September, which is the month of schools in Lebanon.

571,650 injuries

The Ministry of Health announced in its daily report that 1,552 new cases of coronavirus and 5 deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number to 571,650 laboratory-confirmed infections, since February 21, 2020.

The families of the victims took action

On the ground, the Committee of the Families of the Victims of the Beirut Port Explosion and the Wounded and People Who Newly Developed a Disability as a result of the Port Explosion organized a march in partnership with the Committee of the Families of the Kidnapped and Missing in Lebanon, the Lebanese Union for Persons with Mobility Disabilities, the Lebanese Observatory for the Rights of Workers and Employees, the Gathering of Environmental Activists in Koura Litani River Pollution Activists in Bar Elias, Depositors Association, International Federation of Lebanese Youth, Legal Agenda, Zoukak Theatrical Troupe. The march started from in front of the “An-Nahar” newspaper, towards Gate No. 3 of the Beirut port, to the square facing the destroyed silos in Mar Mikhael, where it had a strip of movements.

As for the investigations, the forensic investigation, Tariq Bitar, will hear Imad Koshli tomorrow.

Kashli, who was working as a truck driver for a company in the port of Beirut, and was seriously injured in the August 4, 2020 explosion, admitted that the port “was witnessing a strange security movement on August 4, the day of the explosion.” "I am an employee of a company and a truck driver, and on the day of August 4, I saw (watched) strange things and strange movement at the port," he said, during an intervention in an episode of the "Time Has Come" program, from inside the port's campus. He added, "I was a truck driver, and twice I carried a truck to the south, it might have been nitrates... It's been a year since I complained about my concerns... There is no one you can trust to talk to."

South mode

Since yesterday, Saturday, a state of cautious calm prevailed at the borders with occupied Palestine, while the “brigade” learned from official sources that the data indicate that there is no international direction to amend the tasks of UNIFIL despite the attempts of the Zionist enemy, especially after the failure of its attempt to amend the rules of engagement contrary to the provisions of the decision. 1701. She explained that the renewal of UNIFIL will take place naturally.

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, announced in a speech on the occasion of the victory of the resistance in the July 2006 war against the Israeli aggression against Lebanon that what happened a few days ago was very dangerous, and he said: The enemy launched air raids on the Shawakeer area near the Rashidieh camp and in Al-Jarmaq In the middle of the night to terrify the people, thinking that the raids will pass without a response, and this means changing the rules of engagement, and therefore it was necessary to respond.

He added: If our response to their air raids had been delayed, it would have been meaningless, and therefore we decided that our response would be swift, dispelling the analyzes of what he called "political philosophers when they subjected our response to regional and international factors," denying that "the Iranian factor has any role."

And he gave an explanation for “choosing to respond on open ground in response to what came in the enemy’s statement that it bombed open land in Lebanon,” declaring that “we decided to respond in broad daylight, despite the risks it entails for our brothers, but because of our keenness on people’s feelings from the bombing.” the night"

Sayyed Nasrallah: We will respond to every air strike - the response does not wait for consensus - patience is our weapon inside

The investigation without the technical report and the standardization unit is politicized - the Khaldeh massacre and the Shuya incident are in the custody of the state

Hardan: The south is behind the resistance... Al-Rahi: Let the army prevent missiles... The government path is frozen

The political editor wrote

The internal and regional scenes were overwhelmed by the messages conveyed by the speech of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, on the fifteenth anniversary of victory in the July 2006 war, against the backdrop of the missile attack carried out by the resistance in response to the occupation air raids in an attempt to change the rules of engagement and the return of air forces. To raid the Lebanese regions for the first time in fifteen years, and the developments that followed the response of the resistance came to confirm the correctness of its assessment of the situation, disappointing the hopes of those who warned that it would involve Lebanon in an “Israeli” war. Sayyed Nasrallah's speech to carry clear messages to the occupation, the most important of which is that the resistance will respond in an appropriate and proportionate manner to every aggression, especially the return to air raids, without restricting its response to a specific axis on the border in the Shebaa Farms or elsewhere, and it deliberately said that it responded in open areas because the raids took place on open areas And this is the concept of an appropriate and proportionate response, stressing that the account of retribution for the assassination of the martyrs of the resistance, Ali Kamel Mohsen and Muhammad Taan, is still open, but the difference in it is that time is not essential in paying it like the response to the violation of the rules of engagement and the attempt to infiltrate by stealth to amend them, warning the occupation leaders to What a miscalculation of the situation. The readiness of the resistance and its response are not affected by the internal situation and do not wait for the internal consensus that never existed. Despite that, the resistance started and continued until liberation was achieved, and then the deterrence equations that protect Lebanon today and provide stability and calm for the south and for all of Lebanon are proven.

Sayyed Nasrallah addressed the events that aimed to lure the resistance and its environment into sedition, whether in Khaldeh or Shuya. For programmed sedition, it refuses to demonize any Lebanese environment under the pretext of the involvement of some of its members in suspicious acts, and patience will remain its weapon inside and it leaves the state and its institutions to pursue these people, and it closely follows the details of what the security and judicial agencies are doing in connection with the Khaldeh massacre and, like them, will continue to pursue the perpetrators of the Shuya incident, concluding by saying Every event has a story.

Nasrallah paused before the investigation into the Beirut port bombing, so he addressed the families of the martyrs, condoling them as a father to a martyr, calling on them to prevent any trading in the blood of their children and turning it into political merchandise, telling them to go to the investigating judge and ask him why he does not release the technical report so that you know and everyone knows how the bombing took place. Because each bombing scenario has a different form of prosecution, so is it a spontaneous or planned bombing, and is it an “Israeli” missile or negligence and negligence, and why does the judge withhold the technical report that depends on his release, the parallel release of insurance funds estimated at one billion and two hundred million dollars, and is there a relationship Between the two matters, Sayyed Nasrallah asked the judge why unity of standards was absent from the accusations he made, so how can a current prime minister be prosecuted without current ministers and former ministers without former prime ministers, saying that the unity of standards is the criterion of non-politicization.

Sayyid Nasrallah's speech was followed by reactions that dealt with the resistance's response to the Israeli aggression, the most prominent of which was what Patriarch Beshara Al-Rai said in opposition to the response and called on the Lebanese army to prevent the launch of rockets, and the words of the head of the Supreme Council of the Syrian National Party, Representative Asaad Hardan, who confirmed that the resistance is by devoting The deterrence equation affirmed its responsibility to protect Lebanon according to the three-pronged equation, the army and the resistance, adding, commenting on the Shuya incident, that the south is united behind the resistance.

On the political issue, the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, and the President in charge of forming the government, Najib Mikati, will meet today, amid a decrease in the level of optimism and the almost unanimity of the political and parliamentary circles on the stagnation of the government track at the knot of rotation, as signs of the transition of the President’s team’s correction towards the finance portfolio and the proposed name for it began to appear. From the Speaker of the House of Representatives indicates a deepening of the government impasse.

The negative atmosphere prevails over the government file, despite the talk about the need to seize the positive ones, and while President-designate Najib Mikati is supposed to visit President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, in Baabda Palace tomorrow, Tuesday, to complete the research on the sticking points related to the distribution of sovereign and non-sovereign portfolios, the information indicated that Contacts will be active today, especially since the contract is still firmly in place, especially with regard to rotation, specifically with the Ministry of Finance, which the circles of the Shiite duo say to al-Binaa that President Aoun is supposed not to include in the discussion, especially since adhering to it comes from the standpoint of political balances and does not affect the constitution, considering Whoever wants to facilitate the composition accepts that the sovereign portfolios will remain as they were in the government of President Hassan Diab, with the sources indicating that President Aoun’s attempt to target the Director of Financial Operations at the Banque du Liban, Youssef Khalil, is a politician par excellence, especially since this name was put forward in the government formation that he presented. Prime Minister Saad Hariri accepted his apology, and there was no one to veto him, and the sources considered that Berri would not back down from this name, especially since what is happening in terms of rejection or lack of support for the name is due to the attempt of some to go to settle political scores.

Not far away, sources following the authorship process said that things are as they are, there is no progress in the course of negotiations, noting at the same time that Mikati started extensive contacts with political forces in order to name ministers, leading to dropping names on portfolios. The sources pointed out that President Mikati enjoys support from most political forces and from abroad, especially from France, which hopes that President Mikati will not reach an apology and that the political forces will facilitate his mission.

The head of the Supreme Council of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, Representative Asaad Hardan, stressed the need to have a government that assumes its responsibilities towards its people so that the country does not enter into chaos, and he said that the President of the Republic and the President-designate must produce a government that serves the citizen and addresses the existing crises, stressing that the government password underwear.

And he said what is required is an emergency plan and radical treatment of crises, starting with medicine, diesel fuel and electricity, adding that we see on the screens raids on warehouses whose owners intend to monopolize the basics of living, but the question is, has any monopolist been arrested? And the dangerous thing continued is that the citizen sees all his requirements in front of him, including medicine, diesel fuel and gasoline, but he cannot obtain them because of the logic of monopoly and price manipulation.

He stressed that Lebanon is interested today in taking a choice, not even a decision to open normal relations with Syria to secure all the requirements that the citizen needs.

Hardan stressed that the south is the gateway to Lebanon and its stability is stability for Lebanon. He said that stability happened after the deterrence equation established by the resistance in the face of the Israeli threats that no one is surprised by, and the will of the resistance fighters will not allow him to change the equation. He added that the aggressive practices of the occupying entity are not surprising, but what is surprising is that some political forces in Lebanon are saddened by the fact that the resistance confronts any aggression. He stressed that the Lebanese south in general clings to its resistance, and the villages of the border strip have lived through suffering, starting with political feudalism and ending with years of occupation for a quarter of a century.

What happened recently in the town of Shuya, a precedent that our villages had never witnessed, but the region's actors handled the matter wisely, and therefore the abnormal voices remain misplaced, stressing that whoever defends Lebanon's sovereignty and stability has the basic popular base. He said that everyone's memory should be refreshed in terms of the precious prices that the national resistance paid in terms of martyrs, blood and livelihood to expel the Israeli from Beirut and thus from all of Lebanon, and whoever grieves for the loss of the Israeli makes me feel sorry. He stressed that the resistance includes all factions, and it is patriotic par excellence. There are those who resist in advanced positions with rifles, and there are those who resist with stance and expression of opinion, and the responsibility for defending Lebanon lies with all Lebanese.

He stressed that the decision to defend Lebanon is a Lebanese decision in accordance with the political settlement and the constitution, but unfortunately there are people who violated this settlement and abandoned this agreement, and therefore we remind them that their choice is wrong. "Israel" is a usurping entity, and its new military administration is trying to carry out tests on the Lebanese arena, and is trying to invest in the internal Lebanese reality. He pointed out that the resistance confirmed by its response that it is always ready, as its response is linked to its will, the will of its people, and its popular and national base, which it will not abandon despite all the methods of pressure and economic blockade, whether from abroad or from within.

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, affirmed: “We are not looking for war, but we are not afraid of it and we will win it,” stressing that “the enemy will commit the greatest foolishness if it goes to war with Lebanon.

And he gave an explanation for “choosing to respond on open ground in response to what came in the enemy’s statement that it bombed open land in Lebanon,” declaring that “we decided to respond in broad daylight, despite the danger it entails for our brothers, but because of our keenness on people’s feelings from the bombing.” Night”, threatening “the enemy to respond to any raid that it will carry out in an appropriate manner, calling on the enemy to take this matter into account,” stressing that “we will not waste what the resistance achieved in the July war, regardless of the sacrifices, and also to prevent the enemy from overtaking Lebanon, and that whatever the situation is.” In Lebanon internally, we do not care because we will protect Lebanon, and do not bet on the division over the resistance because this division is old, and there was no national consensus on the resistance on any given day. He was in the Galilee or the Golan.

He touched on what happened in the town of Shuya, saying, “The filming of the Shuya incident made me emotional and sad, and this filming and its distribution was shameful and disgraceful. And the film that appeared later confirmed the discipline of the youth in that they fired twenty shells and returned with the rest.

He addressed the people of Shuya and Hasbaya by saying: “If we were able to shoot from our Shiite villages to target the open area in the uninhabited farms, we would have done so, but the rule of geography and military performance forced us to shoot from that area,” stopping at the incident and the practice of the youth “who were ambushed.” The highest levels of patience and morals.” He wished that “if he could reach these young men, he would have done so in order to kiss their foreheads because they are young men who are defending Lebanon.” He declared that “those who carried out the ambush were not from the people of Shuya, but rather there were people from the people of Shuya who defended our eight resistant youth. They helped four of them get out of the hands of those who besieged them before the army arrived to take the remaining four.”

As for the port explosion, Sayyed Nasrallah demanded that the investigations that took place in the port explosion be published. He said, "Hezbollah is not afraid of investigation, nor are the security or judicial services accusing us, but we are afraid of politicization, and of losing the truth." “The investigating judge demanded the unity of criteria and non-discretion, because what happened so far does not depend on the unity of criteria,” he asked, “Why is a current prime minister and not the previous one, like him, a former minister and not the current one?” He said, “Is it because the current prime minister is weak?”

And about what happened in Khaldeh a few days ago, he described it as "a premeditated massacre, and the shooting was intended to kill, and this massacre was carried out by a gang, and there was no logical reason to commit it." He thanked the army for its prompt intervention, noting the "discipline and patience of our people." . And he considered that "the country has overcome a dangerous rupture because of our patience and the moral and religious commitment of our public."

And he called for "the arrest of all those involved in this massacre, who are known by name and photo, and to bring them to trial." He also called for "a radical solution to the safety of the coastal road, holding the army responsible for securing the road." He said, "Those who block the road are not the people of Khaldeh, nor the people of Naameh and others, but rather they are well-known gangs who want to drag the country into sedition." Regarding the government issue, he said: "We cannot anticipate matters, as they are between the President of the Republic and the President-designate."

On the other hand, while the Maronite Patriarch Beshara Al-Rai condemned “the periodic Israeli violations in southern Lebanon, and the violation of International Resolution 1701, Al-Rai denounced the heating of the atmosphere in the border areas, starting from the residential villages and their surroundings. We also cannot accept, by virtue of equality before the law, a party to decide on peace and war outside the decision of legitimacy and the national decision entrusted to two-thirds of the members of the government according to Article 65, Number 5 of the Constitution. It is true that Lebanon did not sign peace with “Israel”, but it is also true that Lebanon did not decide to go to war with it. Rather, it is officially committed to the armistice of 1949. It is currently in negotiations about the demarcation of the borders, and it is looking for security, a way out of its crises, and a recovery from its almost total collapse. He does not want to implicate him in military actions that will draw destructive Israeli responses, stressing, “We want to end the military logic and war, and adopt the logic of peace and the interest of Lebanon and all the Lebanese.”

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres renewed his call to "Israel" and Lebanon to exercise restraint and avoid measures leading to escalation, in a statement issued by his spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

Dujarric expressed the Secretary-General's "deep concern over the recent escalation between the two sides across the Blue Line, including the firing of rockets into Israel and air strikes and artillery fire on Lebanon."

The UN spokesman called on the two parties to be active with the communication and coordination mechanisms of the United Nations Interim Force (UNIFIL).

The Saudi ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, tweeted through his Twitter account quoting the Palestinian writer Ghassan Kanafani, and said: Ghassan Kanafani is one of the great symbolic writers who added to silence a more eloquent dimension than words: “Silence does not always mean acceptance; Rather, it means that we are tired of explaining to people who do not understand.

In addition, the Armed Forces Commander, General Joseph Aoun, left for Qatar, at the invitation of his counterpart, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ghanem bin Shaheen Al-Ghanem.

On the line of investigations related to the Beirut Port explosion, the judicial investigator in the port explosion case, Judge Tariq Bitar, set the date of August 26 as a defendant for the caretaker prime minister, Hassan Diab, and set a session to hear former Minister Youssef Fenianos as a defendant on August 20. .

The United Nations and non-governmental organizations launched an "emergency response" plan worth $378.5 million to "support the most vulnerable people" in Lebanon. According to a statement from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), this plan will provide “life-saving humanitarian support to 1.1 million of the most vulnerable Lebanese and migrants affected by the ongoing crisis.” According to the United Nations, “the plan was developed for a period of 12 months under the leadership of the United Nations Coordinator.” For Humanitarian Affairs in Lebanon, Najat Rushdi and the Country Team for Humanitarian Action.

While the Ministry of Public Health was satisfied yesterday with announcing only the number of infections and deaths that were recorded with the Corona virus during the last 24 hours. The ministry indicated, in its daily report, that 5 deaths and 1,552 new infections were recorded. The tweet, written by the head of the Health Committee, Attorney General, Representative Assem Araji, came within the framework of warning of the most dangerous health and medical level. Daily care patients, the closure of most of the Corona departments, the emigration of nurses, the lack of medicines, the collapse of the lira, the non-application of preventive measures, in the month of September, the possibility of a greater health crisis.

In addition, the General Directorate of Oil decided to open the oil facilities in Zahrani and Tripoli exceptionally tomorrow, so that diesel material would be delivered to hospitals and in quantities allocated for this purpose only. The Oil Directorate’s move came after the Syndicate of Hospital Owners in Lebanon announced in a statement that “a number of hospitals, including university ones, are threatened with stopping their generators within hours due to the lack of diesel.”
